Dr Penny Macdonald - Chair
=Dr Penny Macdonald is the Chair of FedBucks and has been a GP, Managing Partner and Trainer at Marlow Medical Group since 2008. Penny is the clinical lead for the Tier 3 weight management service in Buckinghamshire as well as being the Clinical Director for the Arc Primary Care Network. Prior to her medical career, Penny garnered commercial experience as a Production Manager in the fashion industry before graduating from her medical studies in 2004 and training locally as a GP on the Wycombe GP VTS scheme. Penny is a founding board member of FedBucks, and her vision for local general practice is for a holistic care model which offers the best care for residents whilst fully engaging with communities so they are central to Buckinghamshire’s health and care offering. Penny sees the Federation as a practical means of support to primary care by facilitating at-scale collaboration, whilst allowing primary care colleagues to continue with the work of transformation and delivery. Outside of work, Penny’s interests are running, kettlebells, crossfit and boxing and enjoying the countryside with her friends, family and two Labradors, Harris and Hector.
Laks Khangura - CEO
Laks Khangura has a commercial background and an excellent track record in growing start-up organisations. He has over twenty years of executive and non-executive board level experience specialising in healthcare, across the full spectrum of NHS Services; Commissioning, Community, Mental Health, Primary Care and Outsourcing - Teleradiology. Laks is passionate about creating a patient focused FedBucks starting with Bucks 24/7 services.
Dr Martin Thornton - Clinical Director
Martin qualified from the University of Liverpool in 1997. He initially pursued a career in surgery training in Sheffield, then specialised in ENT surgery in the Southwest. After obtaining a Wellcome trust funded research degree at world renowned Blond McIndoe laboratories, he moved to general practice to benefit from more rewarding patient centred personal care and pursue his passion for innovative healthcare development. Trained in general practice in Devon, since 2009 he has been a GP partner and business development lead at Trinity Health in Buckinghamshire. He is leading on productive general practice programme within his practice and his interests lie in making health care responsive, innovative and patient focussed. Currently co-Clinical Lead with Dr Penny Macdonald for mobilisation of the Bucks 24/7 out of hours service.
Dr Tilly Siva - Director
Dr Tilly Siva qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1988. Tilly trained as a hospital physician before moving into General Practice, where he has worked for 23 years, with special interests in minor surgery, joint injections and cardiology. He has been a GP partner at Southmead Surgery since 2001, and as well as being a FedBucks board member, also conducts corporate medicals and is the doctor at a Buckinghamshire prep school. Tilly is passionate about general practice, his patients and his work and feels that a strong primary care system is vital for the health of our population.
Dr Shaheen Jinah - Director
Dr Shaheen Jinah qualified as a doctor at University College London in 1995 and has been a GP since 1999. She has worked in Family Planning and for Brook Advisory Service, and also spent 2 years in Alberta Canada where she worked as a rural Family Physician.
Prior to becoming a partner at Hughenden Valley Surgery in 2018, Dr Jinah was a Clinical Director at Harrow CCG. Dr Jinah joined FedBucks in January 2019 as locality director for the Amersham and Chesham locality.
Dr Dominic Wood - Director and Caldicott Guardian
Dr Dominic Wood attended Imperial College Medical School, London, qualifying with a management degree in 2000 and his medical degree in 2002. He then undertook his training in and around the local area, and completed his GP registrar training in Burnham. Dominic joined the Simpson Centre and Penn Surgery in 2007, and is now a co-senior partner. He joined FedBucks in November 2016, as he feels that General Practice is essential within the NHS, and that federated working is key in supporting General Practice resilience. Outside of work, Dominic enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, and his interests are travel, oenophilia and gastronomy.
Zoe Brogan has joined FedBucks as the locality director for Wycombe, and also works as the Operations Director for BetterHealth Bucks CiC and Practice Manager for Cressex Health Centre. Prior to working in the health service, Zoe had a successful career working for the Ministry of Defence in governance and financial management before leaving to join the education sector where she worked for three years as a Business Manager within Finance, HR and Project Management. Zoe has joined the federation as a board member as she believes the success of future NHS Primary Care strategies lies within federated working.
Lesley Munro-Faure - Director
Lesley Munro-Faure is the FedBucks director for Aylesbury South locality, and is also a practice manager at Unity Health in Princes Risborough.
Dr Sunil Pillai-Director
Dr Sunil Pillai joined FedBucks in January 2019 as the locality director for Aylesbury Central locality. Dr Pillai is also a GP Partner at Poplar Grove practice in Aylesbury.
